It’s ‘National Cat Day, and what better way to celebrate these beautiful felines than with several different ideas of how to include your cat or cats in your wedding. Most cats, unlike most dogs, are a little harder to persuade to pose for pictures, but that does not mean they aren’t just as important.
First, make sure your significant other is on board with any one of these ideas. In most cases, they love your cat as much as you do, but just in case-better to ask.
Every couple first needs to make sure their guests save the big day and put it on their schedule—what better way to do that than including your four-legged companions in those save-the-date cards?
There are many creative ways you can include your feline. For example, you can do the kitty save the dates with photos, cartoons, pictures, or drawings.
These are some great companies that can help you with that:
Adding them to the invitations, too, can be just as adorable!
You can have your friendly feline walk down the aisle, have someone carry them or even bring them down the aisle with a stroller. Of course, decorating a stroller with cute flowers and a fun sign can always add that special touch.
Warning including your cat as the ring bearer is not for the faint of heart. But of course, that depends on your cat. Many couples will have their dog walk down the aisle, but who says cats can’t do the same? Some cats are very friendly and love attention. We always suggest using a leash and a cat harness. You never know how they will react. Dogs can run, but cats…well, they can fly (or sort of).
Now some cats may not be made to strut their fluffy tail in front of so many. As much as you want them to, their personalities just don’t fit that role. Always consider the pet’s temperament and in what environment their personality would shine more. Ultimately, we want to avoid surprises and for everyone to have a good time. Your best fur-pal may do best in photos right beside you.
Many couples have their pictures taken before the wedding. Either for the getting ready part or the first look pictures. Why not incorporate them, then? Cats that tend to be on the shy side may do better being photographed indoors and with as few people around them as possible. Don’t know how to make this happen? Hire a wedding pet care company, like Furever Us, and let them do all the planning and the work. All you need to do is show up.
Cake toppers: You can have your cat front and center in many cute ways.
Cake toppers come in all shapes and sizes. If you want them to look as authentic as possible, consider the price, weight, and material.
If you are one of those super passionate about kitties, you might want to consider surprising your guests with some of these. Sure, some might not get it, but those who do will laugh. Table names, guestbooks, and signs are great for adding that perfect accent to your wedding. In addition, it can remind you that your Garfield is always there with you and lets others know that your feline is impawtant.

You want your significant other to have your cat in mind while walking down the aisle. Why not some cat-themed accessories? Cufflinks are a super cute way to show off your style.
Or something a little more dainty such as a cat pendant.
Who needs flowers when you can have kittens? Let us not forget that cats are just as photogenic as dogs. How about, instead of a bouquet, some kitties?
